    The House of Representatives is scheduled to hold its regular session today, Sunday, at three o'clock in the afternoon to vote on the draft federal budget law for 2021, according to the parliamentary media department.
    A member of the Finance Committee, Sherwan Mirza, said in a press statement, "The Presidency of the House of Representatives will hold a meeting with the heads of the parliamentary blocs to discuss the budget and see the opinion of the blocks about the articles in the draft law."
    He explained, "Most of the disputes that existed over the budgetary articles are heading towards a solution, including the Kurdistan region’s share of the draft budget law."
    The Parliamentary Finance Committee held a meeting yesterday, Saturday, at the Government Palace, with 6 ministers and the President of the Federal Service Council regarding the 2021 budget, headed by Deputy Speaker Bashir Al-Haddad, and discussed in detail the terms and articles of the draft budget law.
    The meeting stressed "the inclusion of the vote on the budget in the agenda of the Sunday session, while studying the budgets of service ministries and the sections of disbursement for service projects."
    He called for "addressing the high prices of foodstuffs and commodities and finding solutions and alternatives to the repercussions of the exchange rate."
    Parliament denied the agreement of the Finance Committee and the government or the committee’s approval regarding the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar.
    The meeting called for "the political forces to resolve differences to reach consensuses that pave the way for passing the budget."
    While the Presidency of Parliament will hold a meeting with parliamentary blocs prior to today's session to agree to pass the 2021 budget.
    Yesterday, a member of the Finance Committee, Sadiq Mudloul, said, "Things are heading towards voting on the budget on Sunday."
