The Ministry of Transport, the General Company for Iraqi Ports, confirmed, on Sunday, that the projects included in the Faw Grand Port project will provide between (10-15) thousand job opportunities for the unemployed.
The spokesman for the ministry, Hussein al-Khafaji, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that "the large port of Faw will soon open the doors of employment for thousands of the unemployed as it is one of the large and giant projects and will provide between 10 and 15 thousand job opportunities."
Al-Khafaji added, "A unit has been formed to follow up on the local employment of the Project Authority, to supervise the employment mechanism."
Earlier, the General Company for Ports of Iraq, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, revealed the possibility of providing more than (700) new job opportunities by the Korean company, Daewoo, if the financial allocations for the Faw Port project were launched as a first stage.
