The head of the Kafa bloc, former MP Rahim al-Darraji, warned Monday (May 24, 2021) of the danger of boycotting the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that the boycott only serves the corrupt parties .
Al-Darraji told  IQ NEWS , "The corrupt parties are ready to pay money to the citizens who boycott the elections, and some parties are working on pumping ideas that push the citizen to frustrate the electoral process for the purpose of boycotting it," adding, "It is not unlikely that the parties paid money to boycott the elections, and we We warn about this step. "
He stated that "there is an issue that corrupt parties exploit in Iraqi law, that if (10) people go to the elections, the elections are considered valid, and this matter benefits the parties, as they have supporters and popular bases, and this matter cannot be denied ."
And the former Iraqi MP added that "those who boycott the elections are insisting on repeating the same corrupt faces and insisting on repeating and continuing failure in Iraq at all levels. There is no mechanism for change and reform other than broad participation in the elections, as broad participation breaks the back of the corrupt."
It is noteworthy that a number of political blocs and parties announced a boycott of the elections, including the organization of the Iraqi Dawa Party and the Kurdistan Islamic Union, while the votes demanded to withdraw from participating in the elections and boycott them after the assassination of an activist in Karbala.
