    {Political: Al Furat News} The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, announced that Iraq is close to the stage of consolidating its political system through the early parliamentary elections scheduled for October 10.

    A statement from his office, of which Al-Furat News Agency received a copy, stated that Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim "stressed, during his meeting with the Tunisian ambassador in Baghdad, {Reza Ziqdan), the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Tunisia, and developing relations with the Maghreb countries on the basis of commonalities and mutual interests, all levels".
    And between "the nature of the roles that Iraq awaits from its Arab brothers after overcoming the obsessive phase of the Iraqi experience."
    Mr. Ammar al-Hakim stressed, "Iraq is open to everyone and accumulates its positives and is approaching the end of the stage of establishing the political system to the stage of consolidating the political system through the upcoming elections."
    The two sides discussed "the roles that Iraq plays in bringing the views of the region's parties closer and hosting direct dialogues between the parties."
    Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim said that "this is due to Iraq's historical position and its acceptance by everyone," calling for "greater openness to Iraq and the investment of the opportunities it offers at this stage."
