{Economist: Al Furat News} The Minister of Electricity in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Kamal Muhammad Salih, announced on Tuesday the near completion of the “Dirloc” hydroelectric project by the end of the year 2021.
In a statement received, Saleh said that over the period of successive governments in the region, and since 1980 in Iraq, the Derlock project is the first hydroelectric project at the level of Iraq and Kurdistan.
He added that the production capacity of the project is 38 megawatts, consisting of two production units, noting that "the project will be implemented from the loan of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at a financial cost of 129 million US dollars."
