Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi stressed, on Tuesday (December 07, 2021), the need to proceed with revitalizing the work of the coordination committees between the army and the Peshmerga, while the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, expressed the region's readiness to coordinate with the Iraqi forces to enhance security and stability .
A statement by the Presidency of the Region, received by  IQ News , stated that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani discussed, in a phone call, the security threats and recent attacks by ISIS, which affected the sites of the Iraqi security forces and Iraqi citizens, and led to the martyrdom and wounding of a number of Peshmerga and civilians." ".
Al-Kazemi affirmed "full support for the Peshmerga's efforts to combat terrorism," stressing "the importance of full coordination between the Iraqi armed forces from the army, the Peshmerga and other security forces, especially in areas of the security vacuum between the two parties ."
The Prime Minister pointed to "the necessity of continuing to activate the work of the joint coordination committees between the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga, with the aim of deterring, chasing down the remnants of terrorism and eliminating them, because of the danger they pose to Iraq and the entire region ."
For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Region thanked Al-Kazemi, expressing "the full readiness of the Kurdistan Region to cooperate and coordinate with the Iraqi forces to protect security and stability throughout Iraq, including the region."
