Kurdistan Democratic Party deputy Sherif Suleiman confirmed, on Saturday, that two candidates for the presidency of the republic went to the House of Representatives as a result of the lack of agreement with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, noting that Reber Ahmed is the party’s only candidate for the position of President of the Republic.
Sharif said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", that "the coming days will witness intense meetings with the political forces to reach common points that would dissolve differences," considering that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party is qualified to assume the position of President of the Republic, which is a merit for the Kurdish component."
He added, "Al-Party does not have any intersection with any political bloc," noting that "there is no agreement yet with the National Union, and we will go with two candidates to the parliament session."
