Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, warned on Tuesday of the dangerous situation in the region, describing the missile bombing launched by Iran on Erbil as "pressure exerted by Tehran" to undermine the efforts of the Triple Alliance (the Sadrist bloc, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Alliance of Sovereignty) in Formation of the new Iraqi government.
"The situation has always been dangerous for us in the region," Masrour Barzani said in a speech during his hosting of the World Government Summit in 2022 in the UAE, adding that countries and players seek to protect their interests, which leads to clashes and interference.
He added, "Today, with the destabilization of security in the world, the dangers have risen in our region, and our peoples are facing the challenges of poverty and believe that justice and equality will not be achieved, and they should be prevented from all that."
And about Iran's bombing of Erbil, the head of the regional government said that it is political pressure exerted by Tehran on Kurdistan for its efforts to develop the gas sector.
Masrour Barzani said: They targeted the house of a citizen, and to find a justification for their action, they claimed that they bombed Israelis, stressing that these allegations are not true.
He stressed that the Kurdistan Regional Government demanded the opening of an international investigation into the bombing, and we asked the Iranians themselves to investigate whether their allegations were true or not, adding that we understand that this bombing is pressure exerted on us because we are looking to the future and we want to form a government in Iraq that is not the way they want them to (i.e. Iran), which is political pressure on the Triple Alliance to reverse its decision in order to maintain Iran's influence and influence in Iraq.
Masrour Barzani also added that the bombing comes to put pressure on the region in order not to continue developing the energy sector, which Kurdistan can supply the world with, not only Europe, and we seek to develop the gas and oil sector, and perhaps this is not in the interest of the Iranians.
