    The Arab Gulf Program for Development "AGFUND", with the Association of Iraqi Private Banks and the Central Bank of Iraq, in the presence of a large presence, discussed the establishment of a specialized microfinance company in Iraq, to ​​reach the disadvantaged segments of society.
    Program advisor Badr El-Din Abdel Rahman told Al-Iqtisad News that "the Arab Gulf Program for Development discussed, in a meeting with Iraqi private and governmental banks and the Central Bank, the activation of an agreement to launch an initiative for the Microfinance and Microfinance Company, which specializes in delivering financing to low-income classes and micro-enterprises in society, and lending them to them." To finance its projects or establish new ones, and to enhance the concept of financial inclusion.
    He explained that "the agreement includes preparing strategies for microfinance and microfinance within the next 5 years through the Central Bank of Iraq and effective financial institutions to address outstanding issues in this regard, as well as providing a financial education program and preparing trainers to correct the concepts of microfinance in Iraq."
    He pointed out that "the Arab Gulf Program for Development aspires to open a microfinance company in Iraq with a capital of up to 10 million dollars, with the participation of Arab and Iraqi private and governmental banks."
    He cautioned that "the company's financing will be through bank financing and the Arab Gulf Development Program initiative," noting that "the profits will be reinvested in infrastructure in a way that can be invested in achieving sustainable development."
    He pointed out that "the Arab Gulf Program has experiments in microfinance and microfinance in many African and Arab countries, and many resources have been harnessed for microfinance in these countries through innovation banks."
