    Information / Baghdad...
The representative of Basra Governorate, Ahmed Taha Al-Rubaie, confirmed that the government no longer has any justification to prevent the entry of foodstuffs to the southern governorates, pointing out that the significant rise in prices and the closure of border crossings is behind the boiling of the street.
Al-Rubaie told Al-Maalouma, "The government invoked Corona in the past when it worked to close a number of border crossings with the aim of controlling the health situation, as well as other justifications."
He added, "All justifications have been removed and no longer exist, as there is no objection to restoring the normal situation to what it was previously and allowing the entry of goods and foodstuffs through the southern border crossings."
And he indicated that "the people of Basra have said their word about the closure of the Shalamcheh border crossing, and the global crisis requires opening the ports due to the demand for foodstuffs in this holy month."
He stressed that "food prices in the southern provinces have witnessed a rise due to the government's policy, which allowed the entry of these materials into Kurdistan and closed the door to their entry in the southern provinces, which sparked a wave of popular anger and rejection of this matter." finished 25
