President Masoud Barzani stressed that "the conditions for the participation of the Kurdistan Region in the Iraqi political process are that all political parties must adhere to the three principles of partnership, balance and consensus."

This came during his reception, on Wednesday (June 22, 2022), in Salah al-Din, the Danish ambassador to Iraq, Stig Paulo Peras, on the occasion of the end of his duties in Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed the Iraqi political situation, and the challenges and obstacles facing the political process.
According to a statement by President Masoud Barzani's headquarters, the Danish ambassador to Iraq valued "President Barzani's role in the history of the liberation movement of Kurdistan, and thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for its cooperation and coordination with the Danish government, with regard to the Danish citizens who recently faced obstacles in the Kurdistan Region."
On May 5, 2022, a landmine exploded in two Danish tourists while they were heading from Sarzira port on the Turkish border to Amadiya district. The Danish Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed at the time that one of them had died.
In another aspect of the meeting, views were exchanged on the threats posed by terrorism to the stability of the region, in addition to the situation in Sinjar.
