The local government in Dhi Qar'in Governorate announced the reluctance of more than 70 industrial investors to conclude investment contracts with the Industrial Cities Authority out of more than 120 applications submitted by the governorate administration.
The Deputy Governor for Planning Affairs Ghassan Al-Khafaji said that the Industrial Cities Authority informed the governorate administration two weeks ago that 71 applicants should be notified and reviewed by the authority, while indicating that contracts for 25 of them and 25 others are in the process of completing the related contracts.
He indicated that the reasons for the reluctance are not yet known, despite the reduction in rent estimates by half, as the cost of each site's area of 1250 square meters was about one million dinars per month, which was reduced to 500 thousand dinars.
He explained that 3 investors have started the work of establishing their industrial projects, while work will be carried out to follow up on the reasons for others' reluctance or having to nominate others on their behalf.
