The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration panel is expected to give justice to Iraq in its dispute with Turkey over the pipeline agreement between the two countries, in Paris in July 2022 .
Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar said in a statement that "resolving this conflict, protecting Iraq's rights under its international agreements, including the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline agreements, is of great importance for the country and its future and defending its lost rights ."
Abdul-Jabbar added, "The arbitral tribunal closed the presentation of the case by the parties, after hearing their regulations and their pleas, and that there is no other opportunity to extend or postpone the case," noting that "the arbitration body of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris will issue its final and decisive decision within the next few months." ".
He continued, "Through the assignment of legal experts in the ministry and international offices, Iraq was able to extract legal recognition from the court by obligating Turkey, after the decision was issued, to pay the compensation mentioned in the merits of his claims."
