On Wednesday, a member of the State of Law coalition, Jawad Al-Ghazali, ignored the missile attacks on the Green Zone in conjunction with the convening of the parliament session, suggesting that the sessions will be held, the president of the republic will be chosen and the government will be formed in the coming days.
Al-Ghazali said in an interview that “the party that targeted the Green Zone today is an unknown and so far unknown party.”
He added, "The bombing took place in an area that is not densely populated, and the damages are not great as a result of this bombing."
Al-Ghazali added that "the role of the security forces was good in maintaining security in conjunction with the holding of the parliament session," noting that "the bombing that took place was outside the control of the security forces charged with protecting the Green Zone and the nearby areas."
He pointed out that "the coming days may witness the holding of Parliament sessions, the selection of the President of the Republic and the formation of the government, because Iraq is in dire need of a government with full powers."
On Wednesday, the Green Zone in Baghdad was hit by three missiles, coinciding with the parliament session.
