Transferring youth from social care to education and municipalities

The Labor Committee and Civil Society Organizations revealed new steps to transfer social welfare beneficiaries from the youth category to ministries on contract basis.
Committee member Zainab Al-Jiashi told Al-Sabah that "the committee is working in coordination with the Ministry of Labor to transfer age groups of social welfare beneficiaries to the Ministries of Education, Construction and Housing, and Municipalities and their departments in the governorates and the rest of the state ministries (on contract basis) similar to the procedures that took place with the Ministry of Interior, in order to benefit from youth energies and harness them to work in the public sectors in the state."
Al-Jiashi added that "the committee is in the process of legislating a law regulating union work for the labor sector," indicating that "the law has been read a first reading and is now in the second reading phase in order to resolve the disputes that have occurred between labor unions and syndicates."
