    A member of the Services Committee in the House of Representatives, Madiha Hassan, said today, Saturday, that the Presidency of Parliament proposed the slums law without submitting it to the committee.


    Hassan said in an interview with the program Balmakhtaz on Alsumaria satellite channel, that "the slums law was read during previous sessions, and the parliament presidency included its reading during today's session, but without presenting it to the [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/Entity/1147485279/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D8%B2%D8%A7%D9%87%D8%A9 %D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%AF%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA/ar/]Services Committee[/url]," adding: "We asked to postpone the reading, but Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi asked to add amendments in later".






    She added, "We have objections to the slum law, and tomorrow a number of amendments will be added to this law."

    And she continued, "If the citizen is able to pay rent, why does he go to live in slums?"

    Earlier in the day, the House of Representatives began the first reading of a bill dealing with residential abuses.
