, Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, discussed, on Monday, with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
And the bank stated, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that “the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, received today the Australian ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, and during the meeting they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two friendly countries, in addition to the measures taken by the bank.” The Iraqi Central Bank in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, developing work in the banking sector, and the efforts of the Iraqi government and judiciary in recovering stolen funds.
For his part, he stressed that "the Central Bank of Iraq is keen to develop its relations with its counterparts in the countries of the world," pointing out that "the banking sector in Iraq has achieved many successes during the past years and gained confidence internationally."
He added, "The Central Bank of Iraq played a major role in achieving economic balance." Ended 29 / h
