Baghdad Provincial Council warned, today, Wednesday (June 26, 2024), the owners of private generators in the capital’s areas against trading in the suffering of Baghdadis by raising the monthly ampere prices.
The head of the Council's Electricity Committee, Noura Al-Juhaishi, told "Baghdad Today", "The citizen has become a victim of the owners of private generators trading in his suffering and exploiting him by raising monthly ampere prices in light of the significant rise in temperatures and the noticeable decline in national electricity supply."
Al-Juhaishi stated, “The Baghdad Governorate Council has set an official price for the months of July and August, and any violation by the owners of private generators will expose them to severe accountability, and there will be follow-up and oversight committees in all areas of the capital, to prevent any exploitation of people’s suffering.”
The head of the Electricity Committee in the Baghdad Council added, “The security services will continue to follow up on the monthly ampere pricing in cooperation with local officials in those areas, and the monthly amperage price for July and August is (8) thousand dinars for the regular line and (12) thousand dinars for the gold line.”
The local units and Baghdad Governorate issue monthly pricing for amperes, in a clear abolition of the issue of “meters” and payment at the end of the month according to operation, as the meter project failed and the generators did not adhere to it, in addition to the failure of the project to determine ampere pricing.
