Reuters revealed today, Wednesday, new information regarding Qatar's entry as a partner in the French total contract in Iraq, where Qatar is expected to get about 25% of the project.
Reuters quoted the head of the Basra Oil Company as saying, which was followed by “Baghdad Today”, that “Qatar Energy is expected to acquire a stake ranging between 20 and 25 percent in the Total Energies project chain in Iraq, which is worth $ 27 billion, and that the Iraqi government aims to retain about 40 percent.” ".
Earlier, the international news agency Reuters revealed that Qatar is in talks to buy a stake in the group of energy projects affiliated with Total Energy in Iraq, and aims to obtain 30% of the contract.
The value of the projects, which is hoped to be developed by the French Total, amounts to 27 billion dollars, related to stopping gas flaring in the Artawi field, desalination of sea water and building solar power stations.
