Work: A program to provide 100,000 new job opportunities

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs intends to launch 40,000 loans for those wishing to establish small projects during the current year, while it revealed that it had submitted a proposal to provide 100,000 job opportunities through the (Public Works) program.
The Director of the Labor and Vocational Training Department in the Ministry, Raed Jabbar Nahed, told the Iraqi News Agency, "INA": "The Ministry is working to launch 40,000 loans during the current year 2023 within the Ministry's loan fund for unemployed youth who wish to establish small projects, and we work through The government program to launch a training program within the vocational training centers to build the capabilities of young people to qualify them to enter the labor market," noting that "this program is continuing to work in order to develop training curricula according to the new market requirements."
Nahed added, "We are also working on implementing what was stated in the (Riyada) initiative launched by the Prime Minister to embrace productive scientific and practical ideas, develop them, and sponsor them through business incubators.
He explained, "Incubators will be the right arm for implementing this initiative in order to provide young people with skills in business management and in feasibility studies for innovative and pioneering projects, in addition to facilitating young people's access to cash sums to establish small projects."
He pointed out that "there is a program to organize (the work of foreigners) and treat Iraqi workers fairly, and we will include, through the issue of correcting their conditions, that in any project there is at least an Iraqi worker for every foreign worker, and as for investment projects, there must be 3 Iraqi workers for every worker." foreign".
Nahed continued, "We also proposed a program to the Prime Minister's Office to provide (100) thousand job opportunities, through a program we called (the Public Works Program), and we are awaiting official approvals to launch it."
