Al-Sudani Consultant: Solving the service and environmental problems of northern Basra

, the advisor to the Prime Minister for Provincial Affairs, Muhammad Al-Masoudi, announced the solution to what he described as the "humanitarian tragedy" afflicting the northern regions of Basra.
Al-Masoudi said, in an interview with "Al-Sabah": He recently visited the province of Basra to find a tragedy experienced by citizens in the regions north of Basra, specifically the regions of Qurna, Medina, Sadiq and others. He added that "the people of those areas suffer from the burning of gas associated with oil, which caused diseases, in addition to their inability to sleep on the roofs of their homes despite the region's richness in oil," noting that he wrote a "detailed report to Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani on the conditions of citizens and obtained approval of the proposals submitted to him.
Al-Masoudi pointed out that "the sewage project in Qurna district was delayed and many problems occurred in the implementation of the technical specification, which led to resentment among citizens," pointing out that "visits are continuing to northern Basra to help citizens in the province, in addition to other visits to the rest of the provinces that are witnessing The implementation of a group of projects as planned, while the other part faltered.
The advisor continued, "There are large projects that cost the state huge sums of money in their implementation without the citizen benefiting from them, due to the corruption that has ravaged the state, especially in the follow-up bodies," explaining that "the lagging projects are distributed in each of Babel, Karbala, Najaf, Anbar, and Salah al-Din, and require direct intervention." In order to overcome the obstacles facing its achievement in order to be qualified to provide the service to the people of those governorates.
