    [rtl]The former deputy from Nineveh Governorate, Muhammad al-Shabki, confirmed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, led by Massoud Barzani, controls some areas in Nineveh Governorate, pointing out that the aforementioned party seeks to annex these areas to the region through the application of Article 140.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Al-Shabki said in a press interview followed by (Iraq Today), that "the region controls certain areas in Nineveh Governorate, and its oil fields are being exploited for the benefit of the Kurdistan government, which expects that the areas it controls will be covered under Article 140."[/rtl]
    [rtl]He added, "The statements and positions of the regional government, specifically the Kurdistan Democratic Party, expect that the areas that it imposes its control over in Nineveh Governorate will be covered by the aforementioned article, and these positions since 2003 differ from the positions issued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.”[/rtl]
    [rtl]And he stated, "The National Union does not attach importance to the areas under the control of the Democratic Party within Nineveh Governorate, especially as they are areas of clash of influence with Barzani's party, despite the fact that they are administratively affiliated to Mosul.
