Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed, on Monday, the government’s continued work to put things right regarding the sale of the dollar and its high prices, indicating that food and basic supplies will not be affected by dollar prices.
Al-Sudani said in a televised statement followed by Al-Maalouma: “Food prices were not affected by dollar prices at a time when we are preparing to launch large service projects.”
He added, “We will witness a major reconstruction campaign for schools in all governorates,” stressing, “Following up on the issue of the Al-Amel neighborhood bridge with the relevant authorities.”
The series of rising dollar exchange rates in Iraqi markets is still continuing, amid conflicting opinions about the real reasons that led to the exhaustion of the local currency again, especially as it began to rise to levels that portend a great danger to the country’s economy.End/25
