, Maysan Oil Company intends to completely end the burning of associated gas at the end of next year, 2024. The
company’s general manager, Hussein Kazem Luaibi, told “Al-Sabah”: His company is second in terms of production in Iraq, as its production currently amounts to approximately 700 thousand barrels per day, noting that the Dima oil field in Maysan Governorate will be part of the fifth supplementary licensing round for its development.
He pointed out that the company's focus is largely on investing in gas for electrical energy and cleaning the environment from the waste of its combustion, expecting that the end of next year 2024 will witness the complete elimination of the burning of associated gas.
Laibi pointed out that the province's fields have reached their peak production, stressing that the Halfaya field is the first to reach this stage in cooperation with PetroGina, in addition to the fact that the "Sino" company in the Maysan oil fields will reach a peak in its production in the near future.
