    Baghdad today - Baghdad
On Monday (October 16, 2023), the leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Ali Al-Zubaidi, confirmed the existence of political and popular refusal to dissolve the Accountability and Justice Commission, after moves by the Presidency of Parliament in this regard.
Al-Zubaidi told “Baghdad Today” that “any trend towards dissolving the Accountability and Justice Commission is politically and popularly unacceptable, as there is fear of intentions to return the Baathists and Baathists to political life, especially there is a desire by various internal and external parties.”
He stated that "there is still a need for the existence of the Accountability and Justice Commission in order to uproot any Baathist who wants to return to important and sensitive positions or even participate in the electoral process. These are the functions of the Commission and the need is not satisfied with it. Rather, there is a necessity for its existence."
During the past few days, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, addressed the Accountability and Justice Commission to complete its data as quickly as possible and send it to the House of Representatives and the concerned authorities for the purpose of dissolving it in accordance with the government program that the House of Representatives voted on.
The coordination framework had reassured the partners not to procrastinate the political agreements that included dissolving the Accountability and Justice Commission and approving the general amnesty law, as the Sudanese government was formed based on the formation of the State Administration Alliance that was formed in accordance with these political agreements.
