Today, Tuesday, Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein opened a joint operations room and the diplomatic electronic passport section.
A statement from the Ministry of Interior, received by Al-Iqtisad News, stated that “in line with the government program to simplify procedures, remove obstacles, bypass episodes of red tape, and reduce the burden on citizens, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, opened a joint operations room with the aim of providing data on expatriate Iraqis, and not... The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his thanks to the Minister of Interior for his efforts in opening the joint room and his constant endeavor to serve citizens inside and outside the country, pointing out that there will be direct contact throughout the day without interruption with all Iraqi embassies abroad, to provide a great service to Iraqi citizens. While the Minister of Interior welcomed the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the “Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence,” stressing that “this service is a new achievement added to the service of citizens abroad and Iraqi communities.”
He pointed out that "these services came as a result of the outcomes of the meeting held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the ambassadors to solve the problems and obstacles that expatriates face abroad, including issuing the national card, the electronic passport, and other matters they need abroad," announcing "the opening of the electronic passport section to provide services to citizens." ".
