The General Company for Foodstuff Trade, Kirkuk Branch, is preparing to equip its agents in various regions of the governorate with the tenth food basket materials, after it completed the distribution of the quota allocated to social welfare groups for the month of November.
The company's director, Joan Fathallah Al-Jaf, explained to Al-Sabah that her company has finished distributing the quota allocated to the social welfare categories, which includes five food supplies from international origins, indicating that it is preparing to distribute the new quota for the current month of December, as it instructed the agents to be equipped with the food basket. The tenth will be distributed at the beginning of next January after the end of the annual inventory, which lasts for three days.
Al-Jaf indicated that it has allocated a staff whose mission is to review the validity of the distributed materials and present them to the quality control to indicate their quality and shelf life, confirming the presence of materials that cover the food basket for a period of three months, while the marketing plan continues in cooperation with reputable and well-known companies. For his part, Undersecretary Fadel Munther confirmed to Al-Sabah that distributing the food basket contributes to the stability of food prices, especially since it includes materials that low-income segments rely on.
In turn, the agent, Omar Suleiman, pointed out that many needy families depend entirely on the food basket, and stressed that its distribution contributes to reducing their prices in the market.
