Committee member Firas Al-Muslimaoui said, in an interview with Al-Ma’louma Agency, that “his committee has a clear vision to strengthen higher education in Iraq by legislating new laws or amending previous ones to meet ambitions and keep pace with scientific changes at the world level.”
He added, "During the new legislative term, the Parliamentary Education Committee intends to vote on Law 40 of the Ministry of Higher Education, which includes many paragraphs."
He pointed out that "the most prominent paragraphs include granting powers to university councils and the ministry to contract an investment with the private sector to build educational hospitals, production plants, and agricultural investments in order to link universities to the labor market, reduce unemployment, and provide job opportunities."
Al-Muslimaoui had confirmed in a previous interview with the Maalouma Agency, his committee’s intention to legislate laws that suit the educational process and contribute to resolving bottlenecks, especially the instructions of the Education Fund, which contributes to solving major problems within universities.
