The Muthanna Investment Authority announced today, Tuesday, the start of planting wheat crop within its plan from the land allocated to it, which amounts to (5) thousand dunams in the Muthanna desert.
The head of the authority, Adel Al-Yasiri, said in a statement received by Mawazine News, “Khayrat Al-Ard Al-Tayyabah Company has begun planting 1,500 dunums in the Muthanna desert to achieve self-sufficiency and support the national economy.”
He added, "The company has adopted modern irrigation methods and fixed sprinklers, as well as high-yielding seeds that are resistant to drought and epidemics."
He pointed out that "the winter plan for next year, which was set by the company, is to plant (3) thousand to (4) thousand dunams of wheat."
Regarding livestock, Al-Yasiri confirmed that “thousands of sheep of good quality have been raised, which will contribute to supporting the local product.”
