Al-Sudani's office said in a statement, "The Prime Minister received, this Sunday evening, the Governor of Wasit, Muhammad Jamil al-Mayahi, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Ali Hussein Sulaiman, and members of its council, and they discussed the conditions of the governorate in terms of service, economic, and social aspects, as well as the priorities of the work of the local government."

Al-Sudani pointed out “the performance that the citizen expects in the new session of the Provincial Council, stressing the importance of working as one team, accommodating all people’s demands, and maintaining security,” stressing “the need for the work of the local government to include a message to the citizen of the seriousness of the commitment, and for the Provincial Council to perform.” His oversight responsibility is independent of political differences, and an approach consistent with the federal government’s program is adopted, so that the work is integrated and achievement is achieved.”

He stated that "the government is starting its administrative and financial reform measures from the importance of preserving public money," pointing out that "some of the objections are of a political nature, with the necessity of joint action to achieve the goal of reform at all levels."

Al-Sudani explained that he had “directed the Ministers of Oil and Electricity to visit Wasit, to determine their needs in these two sectors.” He also affirmed his support for “establishing (Wasit Oil Company) to work within the integrated oil projects plan, proceeding with the completion of the lagging Turkish Hospital project, and filling the shortage of school buildings in The governorate through the Iraq Fund for Development, as well as directing the service and engineering effort, in cooperation with the governorate, to serve unserved residential areas.
