Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met today, Sunday, with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alena Romanowski, on the sidelines of his current visit to the federal capital, Baghdad.
The Presidency of the Region said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, relations between Erbil and Baghdad in light of the latest developments, and the agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government regarding the issue of salaries, as well as the internal situation in the region and the Kurdistan Parliament elections. .

The two sides stressed the importance of resolving problems between Erbil and Baghdad to maintain peace and political stability in the country, and the necessity of cooperation and coordination between Iraqi political parties and continuing efforts and dialogue.
The meetings with the President of the Kurdistan Region in Baghdad, American relations with Iraq and the region, and the program of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Washington were also other topics during the meeting, according to the statement.
In another meeting during his visit to Baghdad, Nechirvan Barzani met with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, and they discussed the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.
The two sides positively evaluated the latest developments in relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, and stressed the importance of understanding and resolving problems between the two sides.
