Today, Sunday, a member of the House of Representatives, Thaer Al-Jubouri, revealed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s move to create new governorates illegally.

Al-Jubouri said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “A government committee was formed to make new understandings between the government of Erbil and Baghdad,” noting that “all the Kurdish politicians’ requests were financial and did not talk about other files.”
He continued, "Masoud Barzani did not care about the demands of the joint committees regarding all crises by hosting the specialized ministers," pointing out that "one of the reasons for the Kurdistan Democratic Party's withdrawal from the political process is not giving the money that Barzani requested from the central government."
Al-Jubouri concluded his speech: “The committee formed by the House of Representatives met with all the politicians of the region, but did not reach solutions to end the crisis occurring between Baghdad and Erbil,” adding that “the region is seeking to create new governorates illegally.”
