    [size=45]The head of the Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, and the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed preparations for holding the international Interpol conference in Baghdad, while they confirmed that the conference will discuss expanding areas of cooperation, raising the level of investigation of financial crimes, and involving anti-corruption agencies in it.[/size]
    [size=45]The Integrity Commission said in a statement, “The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, discussed with the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, the preparation and requirements for holding the international Interpol conference, which will be held in the capital, Baghdad.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “During the meeting, emphasis was placed on intensifying cooperation between state institutions and regulatory agencies in the process of combating corruption and prosecuting its perpetrators, and the role of digital transformation and automation of institutions in reducing corruption, and alerting to the necessity of establishing a culture of integrity, preserving public money, and spreading good morals and customs among members of society.” And combating deviant behaviors, including stealing public money, trespassing on state property, and committing crimes of bribery, forgery, and fraud.”[/size]
    [size=45]He continued, “During the meeting that included them at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, Hanoun and Al-Shammari stressed the importance of the conference scheduled to be held in the coming months. “Because of Iraq’s need for international support in extraditing those convicted of corruption cases for whom some countries provide safe havens,” he pointed out that “they indicated the main axes that could be included in the conference, such as expanding areas of cooperation and discussing raising the level of investigation of financial crimes and involving anti-corruption agencies in it.”[/size]
    [size=45]Hanoun stressed “the multiplication of cooperation and coordination between the Commission’s Recovery Department and the Arab and International Police Directorate in the Ministry of Interior, which in the past months led to facilitating the process of extraditing some of those wanted in cases of administrative and financial corruption who reside outside Iraq, and following up on international arrest warrants (Red Notice) and broadcasting the search.” issued against them.”[/size]
