    Alsumaria News - Politics

Member of Parliament Hadi Al-Salami revealed today, Tuesday, that some parties are "deliberately" not completing the e-governance project, and while he attributed this to the fact that the project will eliminate corruption in state departments, he pointed out that the parliamentary committee tasked with following up on the failure to complete this project has completed 60% of its work.

Al-Salami said in an interview with Sumarya News, "Governance, digital transformation and archiving are among the most prominent reasons for combating corruption," indicating that "after the members of the House of Representatives took the constitutional oath for its current session, we followed up on this file and found that the e-government is lagging behind by forming committees to complete e-governance in the years 2009, 2014 and 2022, but it remained ink on paper."

Al-Salami added, "On this basis, the parliament formed a committee to follow up on the reasons for the incompleteness of e-government, archiving and automation, as we found that there was a deliberate failure to complete this project and digital transformation, due to the presence of major corruption operations. If automation is completed, it will greatly reduce corruption operations in the joints of the state."

Al-Salami added, "This committee has filed a complaint against anyone proven to be negligent in this file, especially some important departments," noting that "this committee has completed 50 to 60% of its work and identified the problems and obstacles surrounding the digital transformation file."

Al-Salami expected that the report of this committee would be completed during the current month of July, adding that "the Integrity Commission and the Iraqi judiciary are participating with the committee in following up on this file."
