The head of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Adel Akab, announced that Iraq will soon achieve self-sufficiency in iron.
Akab told Al-Eqtisad News that Iraq is continuing to achieve self-sufficiency in many materials, noting that Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in juices, pastries and ice cream.
He added that Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in most of the construction materials, such as cement, gypsum, bricks, and others, explaining that Iraq will soon be self-sufficient in iron after the opening of a number of factories.
He stressed that the Iraqi state supports Iraqi industry.
