On Saturday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Safiya Al-Suhail, discussed with the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the preparations underway in Baghdad to host the meetings of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council in the last quarter of this year.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, seen by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Safiya Talib Al-Suhail, met - accompanied by the head of the Iraqi-Saudi Brotherhood and Friendship Committee, MP Shaalan Al-Karim, and the accompanying delegation - with the Saudi Minister of Trade, Majid Abdullah Al-Qasabi, head of the Coordination Council on the Saudi side."
She added, "During the meeting, the legislative efforts made by the Iraqi Council of Representatives to frame cooperation between the two countries were reviewed, and opportunities to enhance bilateral relations and partnerships between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various fields were discussed. The preparations underway in Baghdad to host the meetings of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council in the last quarter of this year were also discussed."
She added, "This meeting comes within the framework of the visit of the Iraqi-Saudi Brotherhood and Friendship Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives to the Kingdom for the period from July 7 to 13, 2024."
