The Ministry of Migration and Displacement granted voluntary returnees from the camps of the Kurdistan Region checks for the return amount.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ali Abbas Jahagir, told Al-Sabah that the ministry distributed the checks for the financial amounts to each family returning or seeking to return to their original areas of residence, noting that a special team was sent to follow up on the distribution of the checks among the displaced in coordination with the administration of the region’s camps.
He explained that the single check is worth four million dinars for each displaced family that has completed its return papers to its areas, indicating that Dohuk Governorate has adopted new procedures that involve the displaced family attending the voluntary return registration office that was recently opened in Sinjar, to promote its transactions in exchange for granting it the check within three days, after which it can return to its original areas.
