    The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan stressed the necessity of accelerating the steps to implement major strategic projects with Iraq on the ground that were agreed upon.
    This came during the reception of Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh in his office at the Prime Ministry today, Wednesday, of Minister of Industry and Minerals Khaled Al-Batal, who is visiting the Kingdom to head the Iraqi side in the meetings of the thirtieth session of the Joint Ministerial Committee between the two countries, which begins its work in Amman today and is headed on the Jordanian side by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali.
    Bisher Al-Khasawneh referred to the historical and fraternal relations that bind the two countries and the keenness to strengthen them in all fields to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.
    Al-Khasawneh pointed out the importance of the meetings of the joint ministerial committee between the two countries and its role in enhancing areas of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
    The Jordanian Prime Minister stressed the need to accelerate the steps to implement major strategic projects on the ground that were agreed upon bilaterally and within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, especially with regard to the electrical connection and the industrial city on the border between Jordan and Iraq in a manner that serves the interests of the three countries and their peoples.
    The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali and the Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires in Amman, Munif Ali Hussein.
