    Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Dibs power station was completed in record time after it had been stopped for 20 years, indicating that this station will add 320 megawatts.
    Fadhel said in his speech via the television circuit to inaugurate the Dibs gas station in Kirkuk Governorate, which was followed by "Al-Eqtisad News": "After the opening of the Iraqi-Turkish connection line in Nineveh Governorate under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, we then moved to launch the Najaf Governorate project package of 500 megawatts, and today we will move to Kirkuk Governorate to announce, in the presence and support of the Prime Minister, the operation of the Dibs station in Kirkuk Governorate," indicating that "the Dibs project is one of the projects that have been suspended for very long years, as the equipment at the work site has been suspended since the memorandum of understanding in 2004."
    He added that "the station was completed in record time after a 20-year hiatus, and under the direction of the Prime Minister, the implementation of this important project, which consists of two units of 160 megawatts each, was proceeded with," noting that "the station added more than 320 megawatts to the electrical grid."
    He continued: "We are working through the future plan to have two units added to the current two units so that there will be four units transferred to the second phase of combined cycles. In addition to the units, we have implemented 132 lines and part of Station 132 where the entire load has been discharged," noting that "the units operate on national gas."
