Member of Parliament Basem Al-Gharabi called on the Iraqi government today, Monday, to exercise its effective role towards the Turkish side, while stressing that Turkey deals with Iraq according to the principle of strength and weakness in light of the great government absence from the scene.
Al-Gharabi said in a statement, "The Iraqi government has many means to pressure the Turkish side to prevent its incursion into Iraq," noting that "the path of development should have been exploited for several matters, the most important of which are the security and water files with Turkey."
He continued, "Turkey is one of the largest economic beneficiaries of Iraq, and despite that, it continuously violates sovereignty," noting that the Iraqi government is supposed to have set red lines during the last meeting with Turkey.
Parliamentary demands emerged to stop the work of Turkish companies present in Iraq and close the borders with the Turkish side in order to harm their economic interests. End 25/C
