The world is heading towards discipline after the aggression against Iran.. and the Iraqi forces are escalating due to the “violation of airspace”

Baghdad/ Tamim Al-Hassan
Political forces and factions have begun to “escalate” following information about Israel’s use of Iraqi airspace in the recent strike on Iran.
Iraq breathed a sigh of relief after an Israeli strike described as “limited,” after two weeks of tension and anticipation, and expectations of an expansion of the strikes.
Analysts read the scene following the recent strike as heading toward “calm,” but what about the factions?
Tehran downplayed the attack, which did not target its oil and nuclear sites, and the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a calm statement that it reserves the right to respond, in the latest development in the escalating conflict between the two armed rivals.
The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it had launched “precise and targeted” strikes on missile manufacturing sites and other air capabilities in Iran, in response to the attack launched by Tehran on Israel earlier this month, threatening Tehran with making it pay a “heavy price” if it decided to respond.
Airspace Violation
Meanwhile, Iraqi parties said that Israel had used Iraqi airspace in the strike.
Hadi al-Ameri, leader of the Badr Organization, called for “ending the US military presence in Iraq” because of the latter’s support for Israel, according to a statement issued by al-Ameri’s office.
In return, a leader in the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, led by Abu Alaa al-Walaei, threatened to “direct punitive strikes” against Israel because of its violation of Iraqi airspace.
On Saturday, Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Shiite National Movement, called on the government to “swiftly deter” Israel because of its use of Iraqi airspace to strike Iran, as he described it.
Al-Sadr said in a tweet yesterday on the “X” platform that the government’s failure to respond would include it under the “law criminalizing normalization.”
According to experts, Israel used Iraqi airspace in 4 areas and flew for more than 10 hours during the last strike.
Information also leaked about three missiles falling in Salah al-Din, and experts expected that the missiles that fell were “advanced airborne ballistic missiles,” according to local agencies.
On Saturday, the communications center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed via Iranian state television that Iraqi airspace was used to strike the country.
According to the information, Israel used a missile system on the border between Iraq and Syria, and explosions were heard in Basra, Diyala, and Salahuddin.
The New York Times quoted Israeli officials as saying that more than 100 fighter jets, including fighter jets and drones, participated in the attacks.
They added that “to prevent objections by Iran’s allies, the planes first targeted air defense batteries and radars in Syria and Iraq.”
However, no clarification was issued by the Iraqi government regarding the news, at the time of writing.
On Saturday, government spokesman Bassem al-Awadi announced Iraq’s denunciation and condemnation of the “Zionist aggression against Iran.”
In a statement, Baghdad reiterated its firm and principled position calling for a “ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.”
Who are the factions?
Meanwhile, a former diplomat said that the participation of Iraqi factions has been “limited” so far in the recent military escalation in the region.
Yesterday, the so-called “Iraqi Resistance” announced the implementation of three operations targeting Israeli sites.
Former diplomat Ghazi Faisal said that “the Iraqi factions’ position will be linked to Iran if it decides to respond to Israel, or if it opts for the “heroic retreat” option that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei may decide.
Faisal expected that the Iraqi armed groups will go for “calm,” but he does not regret that they will abandon their political pressure on the Iraqi government regarding the issue of the presence of the international coalition, the expulsion of American forces, and the closure of the embassy, according to him. In
contrast, the former diplomat said that the Iraqi government “will continue its neutral approach away from the regional war, and will try to play the role of a positive factor and open channels of communication and dialogue for calm, not war.”
In the big picture, Faysal, who heads the Iraqi Center for Strategic Studies, expected that “the world will move towards diplomatic efforts, the exchange of prisoners and kidnapped persons, the selection of a president for Lebanon, and reconstruction,” due to the level of the Israeli strike on Iran, which did not target vital centers such as the nuclear program.
Cautious calm
In addition, an Iraqi researcher in political affairs residing in Australia believes that the situation in Iraq and the world will remain disciplined until the American elections next month.
Researcher Ahmed Al-Yasiri says, “The American mediation succeeded in containing the Israeli strike and organizing the confrontational relationship between Israel and Iran, and the United States regained its central role in the region.”
Based on this, Al-Yasiri believes that on the medium level, America’s return to playing a central role in events will be reflected in “calm in Iraq.”
However, according to Al-Yasiri, this calm is governed by the absence of “dramatic” changes, as happened last month with the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, or perhaps Israel’s storming of the Syrian Golan front, or on the other hand, an escalation by the factions.
Al-Yasiri, who heads the Arab-Australian Center for Strategic Studies, adds, “In this current situation, the state of calm and discipline will remain until November 5, the date of the US presidential elections.”
However, he also said that the next stage is “a stage of cautious calm. It is not a sustained aggression and it is not a complete calm.
