Today, Monday, the Ministry of Communications issued a notice regarding the news of the internet service being cut off in areas of western Iraq.
The ministry stated in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News" that it "notes the inaccuracy of the information circulating in some media outlets about shutting down the internet service in the areas of (Ana, Rawah, and Al-Qaim) or others."
She explained that "some technical and organisational procedures were taken to verify the legality of internet capacities and the absence of smuggling", calling for "exerting accuracy and caution in transmitting information and not being carried away by false news and obtaining information from its official sources".
The ministry stressed that it "reserves all legal measures against any party that attempts to spread malicious rumours to the public."
