[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Massimo Maruti, the political situation in Iraq and the region.[/ltr]
[ltr]A statement by the Accord Movement headed by Allawi cited “Allawi received at his office in Baghdad, the Ambassador of Italy and reviewed with him the situation in Iraq and the region and the role that must be adopted by the European Union in stabilizing the situation and achieving peace in the Middle East.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“The two sides discussed the Iraqi-Italian bilateral relations and means to maintain these relations to ensure progress and prosperity for both peoples,” the statement added.[/ltr]
