    [ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Ministry, Hoshyar Zibari, discussed with the Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, Alistair Burt, the bilateral relations and the situation in Iraq.[/ltr]
    [ltr]A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry cited “Zibari met with Burt on last Tuesday at the building of the British Foreign Department where they discussed the Iraqi-British bilateral relations as well as the events in the region.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]“The Iraqi FM expressed the Iraqi government’s appreciation to the British government’s efforts to assist Iraq in lifting the UN sanctions stated in the UN Charter’s 7th Chapter during the UK chairmanship for the UNSC,” the statement added.[/ltr]
    [ltr]“The meeting included exchanging the views over the confused events in the Middle East especially the continuing Syrian crisis an its ramifications on the neighboring countries in addition to discussing the political and military situation in Egypt,” the statement concluded.[/ltr]
