    Russia has used its veto power in the UN Security Council to block the US-British draft resolution, which holds the French authorities in Damascus responsible for the alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhun.
    And got the decision, during the vote in the Security Council of the United Nations, on Wednesday, to support 10 countries, including Egypt, as opposed by Russia (permanent member) and Bolivia.
    The three Member States abstained in the Security Council, namely China (permanent member), Ethiopia and Kazakhstan, abstained.
    Before the vote, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, Vladimir Savroncov revealed that the Russian side show, during the meeting which took place earlier Wednesday in Moscow between the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov and his US counterpart, Rex Tillerson, a proposal to advance Moscow and Washington a joint request to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical weapons to form a group of experts to be sent to each of the town of Khan Sheikhun base hairs in Syria.
    Savroncov explained that Tillerson pledged that Washington will launch work on the study of this proposal, noting that the adoption of any resolution in the Security Council is, in this context, it is not appropriate now.
    He stressed Savroncov, after the voting process, that the adoption of this document would have meant the ratification of the US strikes on Syria, which represents a flagrant violation of international law.
    It should be noted that this veto is the seventh which Russia imposed by the Security Council on a draft resolution on Syria.
    The London, Washington and Paris have offered, on Tuesday, the members of the UN Security Council a revised draft on the use of chemical weapons accident in the town of Khan Sheikhun decision in the Syrian province of Idlib.
    The Security Council held during last week's discussions on 3 draft resolution on the subject of the use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhun, who was, according to the Syrian opposition claims, as well as Washington, London and Paris, on 04.04.2017 by government forces in Syria and led to the deaths of about 90 people, including a large number of children.
