RIYADH, June 24 (KUNA) - Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry revealed details of the foiling of an imminent terrorist attack targeting the Sacred Mosque and its martyrs.
"The terrorists were stationed in three locations in Jeddah, Hayy al-Asayla and Ajyad in Mecca," the ministry said in a statement. "The terrorist group was holed up in a three-storey house."
The security forces surrounded the house where the suicide bomber was in the area of Al-Haram al-Makki, who opened fire on the security men immediately after being besieged, the statement said, adding that the security men responded to the suicide bomber himself after refusing to surrender.
The suicide bomber blew himself up in the house and collapsed the building, which resulted in the injury of 6 expatriates and five security men.
The Saudi Interior Ministry said it had arrested five cell members, including a woman in Jeddah and Mecca. The injured were also taken to hospital after they were injured by the collapse of the building. Finished
