    The preparatory meeting of the OIC Summit for Science, Technology and Innovation kicked off on Saturday in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana.

    "The document lists some of the huge scientific programs that can be undertaken jointly by several countries, noting that these projects will be key enabling factors for building a knowledge economy in member countries and making their economies dependent on industrialization."
    On Sunday, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is set to hold its first summit on science and technology at the level of kings, princes and heads of state of its members in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
