    [ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, stressed the importance of conducting the next parliamentary elections on time.[/ltr]
    [ltr]A statement by Jaafary’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Jaafary received the Japanese Charge D’Affaires at his office in Baghdad on Thursday.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]“They discussed the important cases that concern both sides and the means to consolidate bilateral relations,” the statement added.[/ltr]
    [ltr]“Jaafary emphasized that Iraq adopts the strategy of cooperation and openness towards the regional countries to enhance mutual interests,” the statement added.[/ltr]
    [ltr]“For his part, Japanese Charge D’Affaires confirmed the intention of his country to upgrade the trade exchange with Iraq and its support for assisting the democratic process in Iraq,” the statement concluded.[/ltr]
