Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem said Damascus would try to solve the problem of the US presence in the country diplomatically, pointing out that his country is ready to consider any other options if it proves that diplomacy is impotent.
"First, we will go through all the diplomatic doors, because the US military presence in Syria is illegal and has not received the approval of the Syrian government. If diplomacy fails, we will consider other options," Moallem said in an interview with RT television.
Since March 2011, Syria has been plagued by armed conflict. According to UN statistics, the number of victims has exceeded 300,000.
During this conflict, the government forces confront armed groups belonging to various armed organizations, most notably the radicalization of the Da'ash organization and the terrorist Front of Victory.
Since September 2014, the United States has directed air strikes to the terrorist organization "Da'ash" in Syria without the consent of the country's authorities. There are also groups of US special forces, which are helping local non-regular forces to fight "Da'ash", especially the "Syrian Democratic Forces" and other groups whose names have not been released by the United States.
