The decision of the House of Representatives Imad Juhna, on Tuesday, that the vote of the House of Representatives to the new Board of Commissioners in the Electoral Commission for elections was a blow to democracy and the rights of the original components and in violation of the Constitution.
"Despite our appreciation for the efforts of the Council and the Committee of Experts to accomplish this, the methodology used in electing the commissioners was disappointing and out of the principles of democracy and constitutional principles that guarantee national partnership and representation of the components of Iraqi society and not representation of political blocs," Jokhna said in a statement. Thus eliminating and marginalizing the original components of the Iraqi people. "
He added that "after the vote on the members of the Commission left the hall," stressing that "this measure is a continuation of the method of monopolization of power by the dominant parliamentary blocs that did not show any respect and commitment to the Federal Court decision that the representation of our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian people."
"This is another violation and a violation of the principles of the constitution which affirms that Iraqis are equal in rights and duties," he said.
He explained that "we reserve the outputs and reserve the right to file a lawsuit with the Federal Court, to ensure the right of the two members added to vote, like other members of the Commission."
